Our youth gather every Sunday morning at 10:00 to examine Scripture and extra-biblical sources. The middle school and high school Sunday school programs are designed to address issues and decisions that our youth face.
We encourage our youth to address and engage the biblical text alongside their teachers, which gives our young people the opportunity to learn and interpret the Bible for themselves with the guidance of adult ministers and volunteers. Discussions revolve around God's activity in our lives, and how we are equipped to be agents for God's action in creation.
The high school class meets in "The Pit" (see the photo on the Youth home page), a room especially designed to encourage open discussion in a comfortable atmosphere.
Middle school students meet next to the Pit. Room numbers are printed in the worship bulletin each week. Please see an usher for help finding your room.
Vine Youth Group
Every Sunday evening during the school year, SSCC's youth group gathers for games, dinner, fellowship and faith-building. Adult volunteers and our young people gather at 4:30 for a social time and open gym, and Youth Group officially begins with group games at 5pm.
Newly named “The Vine,” our group strives to follow Jesus’ command in John 15:16 “I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last….
At SSCC, the youth do just this - bear fruit that will last. From our annual Spring Break mission trip to Mexico to the relationships our youth make at Camp Christian each summer, they are leaving their mark and making a difference. Our youth program is not limited to Sunday evening youth meetings, but it is a program that encourages youth to encounter God in the everyday and to meet and accept others where they are in their own faith journey.
