We welcome you and your child to our church. It is the goal of Sandy Springs Christian Church to provide nurturing and worshipful environment for your child while you attend church services and other church activities. To that end, we offer a safe and welcoming nursery environment for babies and toddlers during both worship services, during the 10 am Sunday school hour, and at the majority of other church functions.
The nursery is available each Sunday morning between 8:30 and 12:30 am. When the nursery will be open for other church events, information will be provided to you in advance. SSCC currently employs two nursery care workers (Coordinator and Nursery Assistant) and one backup nursery care provider, each of whom is certified in first aid. In accordance with safety policies, we will have a minimum of two workers on duty at all Church events.
Our promise to you--Our nursery staff members always work as a team to provide a caring and safe environment for our children. If your child becomes ill or is injured during church services, one of the nursery staff will notify you immediately. Our need from you--Please notify our nursery staff of any allergies, special needs, or other medical conditions your child may have, and pick up your children as soon as church services and/or activities are completed unless arrangements are made in advance with the Nursery Coordinator and Children’s Minister.
Children's Sunday School
Our Children's Sunday School classes meet each Sunday at 10:00 am. We seek to provide a safe, warm environment for children to interact with and explore some of our favorite stories from the bible in new and meaningful ways including art, storytelling, snacks and service. We have wonderful and dedicated teachers with a passion and love for children's ministry.
We have 3 children's classes that meet downstairs:
Pre K-Kindergarten – Room 111
1st - 2nd – Room 109
3rd - 5th – Room 120
J.A.M. 'Jesus & Me' Kids' Club
Our J.A.M. Kids Club (ages 3-5th grade) meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month after church from 12:30-2pm and on other special occasions for a time of fellowship, worship, and service to others in a fun environment. J.A.M. activities are designed to help children begin their faith journey by discovering God in fellowship and scripture and by encountering God in service to our neighbors and strangers. This important ministry seeks to build a bridge between Children and Youth Ministry into a holistic experience from crib to high school graduation.
Some of the many service projects our J.A.M Kids have participated in include helping lead Vespers worship at Campbell-Stone Retirement Center, writing letters to US soldiers serving abroad, wrapping Christmas presents for Lake Forest Elementary kids, decorating and packing school supply bags for needy elementary children, and participating in SSCC’s annual Trunk-n Treat event at Halloween.
We also love interacting with scripture through storytelling and drama, arts and crafts, cooking, singing and games. We know that there are many ways in which children encounter God and we love explore and watch the children grow as they learn that we worship an awesome God that is always with us. Come join us!
