An Unlikely Advent
A Sermon Series for the Season of Advent
In most Christian households, preparation for the Advent and Christmas seasons include the display of a creche or Nativity set. The usual suspects are always present: Mary, Joseph, angels, and, of course, baby Jesus. However, the Christmas story is also full of characters that do not make an appearance in most of our homes like Elizabeth and Zechariah, King Herod, the Shepherds, and the Magi. During this Advent and Christmas season, we will be exploring the lives of those less-familiar characters of this story and the unexpected ways in which God is born in and through them. Come worship with us at SSCC during this special time of year, as we observe and take part in, “An Unlikely Advent.”
