The Vine Youth Group

Every Sunday evening during the school year, SSCC’s youth ages 6th grade through 12th, get together for games, dinner, fellowship and faith-building. Adult volunteers and our youth gather from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in Dunlap Hall.

The Vine strives to follow Jesus’ command in John 15:16 “I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last.” At SSCC, the youth do just this – bear fruit that will last.  This program encourages our youth to encounter God in the everyday and to meet and accept others where they are in their own faith journey.

YOUTH GROUP MEALS – If you would like to help cook, donate, or deliver a meal on Sunday evening for our youth group, please reach out to Caroline Grant (404) 697-0317.

SSCC Youth Mission Trip

Giving back is a big part of the SSCC youth group.  Every year we have a mission trip during spring break to continue to serve “from our doorstep to the ends of the earth.”  We have gone to Tijuana and Tecate, Mexico to help build homes, which enables families to have adequate living conditions. We have gone to Houston, Texas to help rebuild after Hurricane Harvey and to our very own summer camp, Camp Christian, to repair and clean-up to get ready for summer.

We understand the bonds that can be forged on mission trips can last a lifetime and help youth discover a passion for giving back long after they have left the youth group.  It is always amazing to watch the ways in which God is present during mission trips and how the Spirit works through our youth as they discover gifts and talents through service.

Camp Christian

Every summer our youth go to Camp Christian for a week of faith, fun and fellowship!  We have CYF Conference for our high school group and Chi-Rho camp for our middle school group. We believe that camp and conference provide an opportunity for our youth to step away from their day-to-day routines and focus more intensely on their relationship with God, to experience Christian community, and to practice living out their spiritual values in a supportive
atmosphere.
