Rooted In…

This Sunday School option is a series of 4-6 week sessions that covers various topics with different facilitators. We have a great year planned, and newsletter articles will provide you with our topics. We will meet in the Leslie classroom.

Pat and Paul Kapphahn are leading our current session titled “Secrets to a Joyous Life” through January 29th. Pat and Paul write, “The most powerful weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another. We are learning how to let go of old fear-based thoughts and habits that are no longer effective, to intentionally create space for joy and purpose. We are focusing on life’s simple pleasures and moments, leading to a peaceful heart, open mind and relaxed attitude. Beginning February 5th our session will be led by Wilma Zalabak, a new member at SSCC. This is a Bible study course about love, about Mary, the sister of Martha and Lazarus, as recorded in the Gospels according to Luke and John. This Mary had daily drudge struggles like ours, yet her love for Jesus shines for our encouragement through the ages. We’ll be finding and discussing ways to increase our love for Jesus. We will be using a book written by Wilma. Books are available starting Sunday, January 29th, during our current class and on the 5th.
