Music Ministries

IMG_0355We have a diverse music ministry with opportunities for people of all ages to express their faith by making and experiencing beautiful music.  We need you to make our ministry complete!  Whatever your age, level of experience, or musical style, we are holding a place for you! Any questions go to Susan Wallace, Director of Music and Arts:

Sanctuary Choir: Provides choral music at the 10:15 service every Sunday and at special services. Rehearsals start back  Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30.

SSCC Kid’s Choir: For ages 3 to 11. Rehearsals are Sunday mornings from 11:20-11:50, worship performances several times a year.

Men’s Group – Rehearsals usually Sunday mornings on an as-needed basis.

The Women’s Chorus invites you to sing with us this March 29.
We’ll be singing the song “Sometimes I Hear God’s Music” by Joseph Martin arranged for SSA. You can hear what’s in store for us by CLICKING HERE.

Rehearsals will start on Sunday, March 1st at 8:30 am and Wednesday, March 4 at 6:30 pm and will continue each week until March 29. Both rehearsal groups will be meeting in the choir room.
On March 29, both groups will get together at 9:55 am. Each time we have come
together, it is sheer magic and I do not doubt this time will be the same. As always, you attend the rehearsals that work for your schedule. You’ll probably feel most
comfortable with the music if you can make a rehearsal each week, but it is not
essential. Additional opportunities to feel comfortable with the music will be
available through recordings of each of the three parts. The most important thing about joining this group is the desire to give it a try. You don’t have to think of yourself as a singer. You don’t have to read music. You don’t have to have any experience. You’re not committing yourself forever – just for this one song. If you like it, you may want to come back next time.

Just remember…
“Music has pictures and often tells stories all of them magic and all of them true and all of the pictures and all of the stories and all of the magic. The music is you!” ~ John Denver
